Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) launched ‘Toyota U Trust’ in, Lanson Toyota, Chennai today. Set to facilitate sales, purchase and exchange of Toyota and non-Toyota cars, ‘Toyota U Trust’ aims to offer potential customers an opportunity to exchange their old cars of any make for a brand new Toyota, allowing them an opportunity to upgrade. It will also cater to customers who want to exchange their cars for competitively priced used Toyota cars. Customers will also be provided with a wide range of value added services including finance options at the ‘Toyota U Trust’ outlets.
This U Trust facility by Lanson Toyota is the first one which meets Toyota’s U Trust facility standards- UDA (Unique, Distinct and Assuring). The UDA sets apart this new facility from the existing Toyota’s U Trust facilities. More such facilities are underway in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi.
The U Trust was first started in Chennai as a pilot project in 2008. In light of the good response received, Lanson Toyota is setting up a new facility for the U Trust operations. The new facility that meets the UDA standards, has been equipped with the following feautures to enhance customer experience. Attractive exterior and interior designing to give the customer a good feel and enable them to spend quality time in the showroom
Customer focused service that keeps them engaged from the time of entering the showroom till the final purchase of the vehicle and ensures customer convenience.
Value added service like finance, insurance and document transfer to provide one stop shopping experience. Regular after sales follow up.
The used car segment in the country continues to be largely unorganized and Toyota would like to ensure that customers are offered the necessary choice, convenience and transparency in order to make an informed buy or sale. The customer has a choice of driving in with a car – both Toyota and non-Toyota to ‘Toyota U Trust’ and can choose a new Toyota or any used car available.
Customers are eligible to obtain certification for the Toyota vehicles they purchase through ‘Toyota U Trust’, which are eligible for warranty as well. The service manual for certified Toyota cars will come with a warranty up to 1 year/15,000 km. Additionally the cars can get up to three labour free services at Toyota dealerships. Warranty is provided on the engine and gearbox/driveline of all certified Toyota cars.
‘Toyota U Trust’ promises a truly global experience for customers who are considering used cars. Customers are welcome to enjoy all the advantages of a new car customer with one of the world’s top carmakers. To assure the customers of the highest standards an expert team will work on the evaluation and certification of the used cars.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, , “The used car market in India is almost as big and important as the new car market. Toyota U Trust aims at encouraging the sales of our new compact car – Etios, enhancing dealer profitability, and increasing the residual value of Toyota vehicles, which will in turn help increase the new car sales. We wish to heighten the customer experience and ensure transparency while all customers are treated at par with new car customer. We plan to cover 20 outlets in 15 cities by the end of 2010”.
The U Trust website – www.toyotautrust.in – has been launched to facilitate buying, selling and exchange of vehicles. The stock available at the dealerships can also be viewed on the website. The customer can on the website in order to receive periodic information.
